Wally's Book Exchange

...selling and exchanging secondhand books

"Do they sense it, these dead writers, when their books are read? Does a pinprick of light appear in their darkness? Is their soul stirred by the feather touch of another mind reading theirs? I do hope so."

- Diane Setterfield

On this page I have listed the sections my stock is divided into. For the fiction sections I have included authors that are most popular and that we are almost always guaranteed to have. This is not by any means a comprehensive list and our stock is constantly changing. On an average week we take in over 100 new books for sale and have the same ones being sold, returned for exchange and sold again. Please contact us if you are looking for a particular author/title and we will search the shelves!

"You're never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read to a child."

- Dr. Seuss

'Books are the carriers of civilisation. Without books, history is silent, literature dumb, science crippled, thought and speculation at a standstill. They are engines of change, windows on the world, "lighthouses erected in the sea of time".'

- Barbara W. Tuchman
